Traveling to Canada
VISA HELP DESK
Visitors are permitted to enter Canada on a temporary basis, and are required to leave the country at the end of the period authorized for their stay. The general criteria for visitors are that they:
  • Should be in good health
  • Must not have a criminal record
  • Must not pose a security risk to the country
  • Must not be a financial drain on Canada
  • Should have strong enough ties to their home country that they are motivated to return home after a temporary visit.
Securing visas for international travel can be a slow and complex procedure, with a significant failure rate, based upon seemingly arbitrary decisions. However most countries have clear policies and guidelines, with established criteria for each visa category. Unsuccessful applications often result from:
  • The applicant not fully knowing or understanding the criteria
  • Applications being poorly prepared and presented
  • Low quality information.
